Is it worth five minutes of your time to find out?
Can you build an MPB Today or any other home-based business using both schools of thought?
Briefly, if you are focusing on recruiting your friends and family, doing 3-way calling, handing out business cards and handing out samples, you are Old School in your approach to building your home-based business. You can incorporate both the Old School and the New School approach to building your home-based business by leveraging the technology that is available to you today. In the old days, network marketers worked very hard going door-to-door and used their warm-market to build their business. People in general had more time to get together and socialized with their neighbors allot more than today and for this reason direct selling was very lucrative for the aggressive individual.
In the last 10 to 15 years, a new breed of home-based business professionals began to use the power of the Internet to build their business. For the most part, this new wave of entrepreneurs started leveraging the technology to reach massive online shoppers. The reason why you have to look at positioning yourself out there in the Internet is because that is where you are going to connect with who is looking for your service or product. You really have to incorporate both schools of thought in order for you to build a large and lucrative business.
What is different today?
Everyone today is busy with his or her family, job and personal endeavors. People just don't have the time to socialize and connect with their neighbors or any body else. So, they turn to Internet for everything that they are looking for. You have to learn and educate yourself on how you can position yourself to benefit from this massive online traffic. Just putting up a website and writing some articles and blogs will not do it, if it is not done correctly. It is like throwing mud on the wall and hoping some will stick.
How do you position your self on the Internet to be found?
First of all, you have to have a keyword optimized website that you can send potential clients to. Your website should be a lead capturing page where your potential clients can leave their contact information if they want to learn more about what you have to off. Remember that everyone that comes to you or your website is looking for something and the question is always "what is in it for me"? To drive traffic to your website, you need to use targeted keyword article marketing, blogs, videos and social media sites. These are free traffic options and you also have paid traffic options. I suggest that you start with the free options first. With free options, you will have to do the work yourself and it will be a fun learning experience. There are lots of free websites out there where you can place your articles and videos. Yon can get a website up and running for less than a $100 a year. You will need a good auto responder (Awebber), which will cost you about $19.99 a month. In most cases, you can get everything done with a little help from a friend, college student or your upline.
Are there courses out there that can help you positioned yourself on the Internet? Yes, there are!
You need to do some research and connect with some people that are already leveraging the Internet to build their business. Keep in mind that in today's network marketing business, you may be working with someone across the country or the around the world.
